TCURVE DEEP JIG RODS BY IAN MILLER

With the rediscovery of the effectiveness of deepwater jigging for kingfish, Samson fish, amberjack, dogtooth tuna, pearl perch, and a host of other species, Shimano’s TCurve Deep Jig rods are going to see a lot of use out on the bluewater this coming season.

Built on Shimano’s revolutionary TCurve blanks - which utilise an exclusive manufacturing process to overcome the brittleness of high modulus carbon - there is a choice of two weight rods in either threadline or overhead configuration.

Both are strong, light in weight, extremely responsive, and have significant reserves of power.

The Deep Jig 200 loads beautifully with jigs from 150 to 250 grams in weight and can handle a maximum of 24 kilo line, and the Deep Jig 400 is suited to heavy metal from 300 to 500 grams and a maximum of 37 kilo line.

Componentry is top notch, with the latest large diameter Fuji SiC guides and tips, Fuji reel seats, and ergonomically shaped foregrips.

The bindings are actually made of carbon fibre, not thread, and look absolutely sensational with gold highlights.

Look to match these superlative jigging sticks with Stella or Spheros threadlines, and Trinidad, Torium, Calcutta TE, or even the classic TSM4 overheads.
